What is your preferred Energy Level for your wolfdog?
*
Lower Energy - Tends to prefer the couch potato lifestyle, but still up for the occasional adventure; Fits in best with a family who tends to live the "Weekend Warrior" lifestyle and doesn't (or can't) spend at least 1-2 hours daily working on training/enrichment for their pets.
Moderate Energy - Should fit in well with a genuinely active household, but doesn't go crazy if they only get intensive training/exercise/enrichment a few times per week.
High Energy - Will need several hours of daily exercise and enrichment; Tends to have higher drive for training/working and expending energy.
Flexible - Willing and prepared to accommodate any energy and drive level.
Please list your coat color preferences in order of First Choice to Last Choice. Be aware that different litters will have different coat color possibilities, so please refer to the litter's information page if you are unsure what puppy coat colors are possible for a specific litter.

Please understand that we cannot guarantee the number, sex, or color(s) of puppies that are born in a litter. We are just as anxious as you to find out how many puppies will be born and what their sexes and colors are. We do our very best to match each puppy to the home that fits them best, based on each puppy's personality and overall traits compared to each applicant's preferences listed in their application.
Please specify the sex of the puppy you wish to apply for.

Please understand that we cannot guarantee the number, sex, or color(s) of puppies that are born in a litter.
Same-Sex Aggression (SSA) is common in most wolfdogs. It is most likely to develop once they reach sexual maturity. This can happen as early as 6 months of age, or as late as 2-3 years of age. This natural instinctive behavior can negatively impact their relationships with other dogs of the same sex for life, requiring the dogs to be separated permanently to avoid them seriously injuring or even killing each other. Neutering/spaying might reduce the intensity of this behavior, but it doesn't always eliminate it entirely. This is a very serious trait that we expect our puppy buyers to be aware of and plan ahead for. We strongly encourage applicants to consider applying for an opposite sex puppy from the dog they already own. If you own both male and female dogs already, then it is typically best to apply for a male, as they will have a higher likelihood of remaining neutral with other males after being neutered.
If you own both male and female dogs, it is necessary for you to have a *realistic* plan in place to separate a wolfdog from any dog(s) they end up not getting along with after reaching maturity. Please be prepared to discuss this plan with us in detail during our review of your application.

Please describe your current fencing. Be as detailed as possible. Important information to include is: Your fence's height at the tallest AND shortest points, including any gates); What material(s) your fence and gate(s) are made of; The wire gauge of chain-link/metal fencing; Whether you have any features installed to prevent digging out or jumping over the fence and what those features are. You will be required to provide photos and videos of your current fencing when we follow-up with you regarding your application.
*
We require our wolfdog owners to have secure, escape-proof fencing for your yard. This will provide your dog with a safe and secure place to spend time and play in the yard, without the risk of them escaping. Wolfdogs are extremely athletic and strong animals who can jump over and dig under fences in literal seconds. Part of being a responsible owner includes making sure you have taken every possible step to keep your dog safely contained at home, even when they're just hanging out with their family in the yard.
Please describe your outdoor containment pen with as much detail as possible. Important details to include are the dimensions, fence height, fence material(s), gate material(s), what kind of features you have installed to prevent digging out from under the fence and jumping/climbing over the fence. You will be required to provide photos and videos of your outdoor containment pen when we follow-up with you regarding your application.
*
In addition to having secure yard fencing, we also require our wolfdog owners to have a secure, escape-proof outdoor containment pen for their wolfdog, regardless of its percentage or content. This provides your wolfdog with an absolutely secure place to spend time whenever you're unable to keep them company and supervise them. Examples would be: while you're at work, out shopping, helping kids with homework, unexpected emergencies. This provides your wolfdog with a safe space they can call their own during breeding season, since even spayed/neutered wolfdogs still can get fairly hormonal and experience behavioral changes in winter months. The minimum size requirement is 500 square feet PER DOG that will be spending time in the pen. (I.e., two dogs in the pen means it must be at least 1,000 sqft). Shelter, shade, and fresh water are required to be available at all times within their pen.
Please provide the Name, Phone Number, and Address of your Veterinarian.

Where do you work, and what do you do?
*
On average, how long are your work shifts? With this in mind, how many hours are you away from home on a work day, including commute times? How many days of the week do you work?
*
Does your work ever require you to go out of town/state/country? How frequently do these business trips happen, and on average, how long do they tend to be?
*
Please provide the Name and Phone Number of your Emergency Contact when it comes to providing care for your wolfdog if there is ever an emergency (for example, you end up in the hospital, or go out of town for a funeral).
*
Our fencing and enclosure requirements ensure that your wolfdog will stay safely contained at home. if you have a personal emergency or have to go out of town for ANY reason, it is important to keep in mind that most doggy day cares, boarding facilities, and even many veterinarians, will NOT board dogs with wolf content. Finding an experienced dog sitter to care for your wolfdog at YOUR home is the safest option for your dog, should the need arise.
If you choose to have a family member or friend care for your wolfdog at their house while you are out of town or otherwise unable to care for your wolfdog (such as during an emergency situation), that person MUST live in a state, county, city, and neighborhood that is legal for wolfdogs AND they must have secure fencing, or there is a VERY high risk that your dog may escape and get confiscated by law enforcement, or even hurt or killed while running loose. This happens A LOT, and it's heartbreaking when the unthinkable happens. We cannot stress enough: Having someone you trust care for your dog at YOUR home is the safest option for your dog, if you are ever unavailable for any reason.
What do you plan to feed your wolfdog?
*
We feed our adult wolfdogs Victor Hi-Pro-Plus and Diamond Hi Energy dog kibble. These are high protein, high calorie, grain-inclusive kibbles. In the past, we have also fed our dogs other high-quality kibble brands such as Wellness Core, Diamond Naturals, and Merrick Backcountry. We have also fed some of our dogs Prey Model Raw (80% protein, 10% bone, 5% liver, 5% other-hormone-secreting organ). Our litters are raised on Victor Hi-Pro-Plus, which is appropriate for all life stages. We send home a brand-new back with each puppy, to help slowly transition them if you wish to change their diet.
Do you believe in the "Alpha Theory?" Why or why not:

If you plan to work with a professional trainer or training company, please provide their Name/Business Name and Phone Number. If they have a website or social media page, please include a link. If you do not plan to work with a trainer or training company, or haven't picked one yet, please say so.

We very strongly encourage our puppy owners to enroll their puppies in group puppy socialization and obedience classes as soon as possible (typically no sooner than 11 weeks is allowed by most facilities). Practice grooming and handling your puppy every day. Training your puppy while they are young and eager to learn will help to curb problematic and/or rude behaviors as they grow into the rebellious teenager stage, which usually starts around 6 months and can last up to 2-3 years of age! Wolfdogs are a slow maturing breed that will undergo several changes in personality as they grow into a fully mature animal. For higher percentage wolfdogs especially, many of the submissive and tolerant behaviors that you will see in puppies and young adults will change with maturity into an animal who has very strong opinions about what they do and don't like, as well as what they will and won't allow to be done to them. Practicing and rewarding your wolfdog's tolerance of grooming, handling feet/mouth/ears/tail, and reinforcing good manners early on will pay off immensely once your animal reaches full maturity.
We do not allow our buyers to choose their puppy. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, we take several weeks to get to know each puppy in our litter and match them to the home that we feel fits each puppy's individual personality best. We are very careful to take all of the preferences of each applicant into consideration when assigning puppies to their homes. If we feel there is not a puppy in the litter that appears to be suited to your needs in terms of temperament, breeding potential, activities you plan to participate in, etc., we will not sell you a puppy from that litter. Setting each puppy and their family up for the best possible success is our number one priority. In the event there is not a puppy we feel matches your needs, based on your application and interview process, we will offer you the choice of either receiving a refund of your Deposit OR putting your Deposit towards a comparable alternative litter that we have planned.

Please refer to our Sample Deposit Contract for a more in-depth description of our terms and conditions regarding Deposits.
I understand and agree to allow Wolfdogs of the Ebon Blade to assign me a puppy they feel fits me best, based on the information I provide throughout my application.
You must pick up your puppy IN-PERSON. Shipping/transporting of puppies by third parties to their homes is NOT permitted under any circumstances. You are responsible for all costs associated with traveling to Wolfdogs of the Ebon Blade, in Johnson County, TX, to pick up your puppy and transport it back to your home. You acknowledge that travel costs will be in addition to the total purchase price of the puppy. We VERY strongly recommend that you plan well ahead of time for this trip.
*
Wolfdogs are large breed dogs and 8-10 week old puppies WILL exceed the 20 lbs. pet + crate weight limit that all pet-friendly airlines have for carry-on. This means that the puppy will have to travel in the cargo hold of the airplane. We very strongly recommend against this method of transport to bring your new puppy home. Cargo shipping a young and impressionable puppy can be a very scary experience for them. Due to the wolfdog's more sensitive nature, this type of experience has a very strong chance of negatively affecting the puppy, possibly for life, and can lead to the puppy developing a more fearful and anxious temperament. We encourage you to do your research and plan ahead to determine the safest travel accommodations for you and your new puppy.
I understand that making travel arrangements (including factoring in cost of travel, which is in addition to the Total Purchase Price of the puppy) is my responsibility and that I am required to pick up my puppy in-person from Wolfdogs of the Ebon Blade.
